Skovlystløbet - Nordsjælland is a September forest run in North Zealand, starting in Holte and routed through Rude Skov. The current listing is for a 10 km race. The broader Skovlystløbet event includes 5 km and 10 km options; when both are available, the 10 km consists of two laps of the 5 km course.
Rude Skov features old deciduous forest, open hilly terrain, small streams, and trails formed by ice-age topography. The event is as much a social gathering as an athletic one, with families, friends, colleagues, and runners starting together in the morning. Each participant receives a tree planted in their name, and the finish includes a medal, snacks, and alcohol-free beer from Skovlyst.
