About this race
The 5K Playa d'en Bossa is a flat 5-kilometer road race in Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza, run on a Sunday morning in January as the opener of the island's popular racing season. The course sits at sea level and is built for speed, with long straight sections aimed at runners chasing quick times or personal bests. It is certified by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation and listed on the national calendar, so the short distance comes with proper road-race structure.
The route starts on Carrer Gamba Roja, covers two laps beside the coast, and finishes near the Nassau Beach parking area. Around a thousand runners are expected, making it one of Ibiza's busier races, and the field is open to both federated and non-federated runners aged 16 and over. The Ibiza Athletics Club organizes the event, with categories for Sub, Senior, and Master runners, prizes across categories, chip timing, insurance, and a commemorative T-shirt included in registration. To keep the race moving cleanly, runners are split into timed starts, with faster runners setting off separately from those aiming for the 25-to-35-minute range.
