The Marxa de l'Aigua de Tarragona is a 35 km non-competitive endurance walk from Rodonyà to Tarragona, usually held in late August with a late-afternoon start. Walkers leave first, and people who want to cover the route running start an hour later, so it sits somewhere between a long community walk and a low-key trail challenge. The route has 520 meters of climbing, 822 meters of descent, and a high point of 372 meters, with an 8 hour 30 minute limit before the finish closes overnight.
The route follows part of the old path linked to the miraculous water of Sant Magí, Tarragona’s patron saint, and the traditional carrying of blessed water toward the city. It passes Tossa de Montferri, Salomó, El Catllar, and Tarragona before finishing in the city, with four solid food stops along the way. Club Excursionista Alliberadrenalina organizes it, entries are capped at 500 participants, and finishers get food at the arrival area plus a diploma.
