Basajaun Trail Race starts and finishes in Galdeano, in Navarra’s Valle de Allín, and sends runners into the Sierra de Lokiz. It is a mountain trail race with three choices: 43 km with 2,550 meters of climbing, 23 km with 1,350 meters, or 13 km with about 700 meters, so even the shortest option is a proper uphill day rather than a casual jog.
The routes use trails around some named local spots, including the Basaula ravine, San Cosme, Santiago de Lokiz, Muneta pass, and the Ollobarren holes. The long race usually goes first in the morning, with the shorter routes starting later, and the event keeps historical classifications and results for runners who want to compare performances across editions.
