About this race
The Beñat Elzo Mendi Lasterketa is a 10.75 km urban trail race held in November. It begins and ends on asphalt, with a more undulating middle section leading towards the Faro lighthouse. The initial two kilometers are flat, leading to the Puerto Pesquero, and the final two kilometers are also flat. This setup provides runners with a straightforward road-style start before the course becomes more challenging.
The course's demanding section spans approximately six kilometers of ascents and descents, accumulating 121 meters of total elevation gain. The peak elevation of 77 meters is reached around kilometer 7.4. The race attracts a local participant base numbering in the low hundreds; one recent running saw 288 classified finishers. In that edition, local veteran Iker Oliveri secured his fifth victory, finishing ahead of Patrick Lareque and Beñat Bengoetxea.
