The Caminada Popular - Trail de Gósol is a July mountain event in Gósol, Berguedà, Catalonia, offering two options for the same route: walking or trail running. It spans 16.66 km with a 794 m elevation gain, presenting a challenging yet manageable day for hikers and runners, rather than an elite competition.
The course crosses Gósol and its valley via mountain terrain and local paths, with staggered starts for walkers and trail runners. Walkers receive support at five checkpoints. Each participant is issued a bib containing the route map, elevation profile, checkpoint closing times, and spaces for marking passage points. The event also contributes to the conservation of Gósol Castle and the restoration of nearby paths and natural springs, adding a local purpose to the day.
