Carrera Nocturna running Alcolea 2026

Carrera Nocturna Running Alcolea is a 5.5 km night road race in Alcolea, a town in Córdoba province, usually held around the end of July. It is organized by Club Deportivo Running Alcolea and sits within the Circuito Cordobés de Carreras Populares. The start and finish are both in Plaza La Cerería, and the race uses an urban course through the town’s main streets, with kilometer markers, aid stations, and timing validated by the Andalusian Athletics Federation. The modern event began in the summer of 2011 with just 20 runners, but it was created to bring back a local racing tradition that goes back to 1949 and now counts more than 50 editions. Moving the race into the evening helped it grow sharply, with one night edition drawing 700 starters. Around 400 runners are expected in a typical recent edition, and the whole town gets involved: residents cheer, members and volunteers handle street safety, race services, awards, and other jobs. Part of the money raised goes to the Asociación Andaluza de Fibrosis Quística.
