The Carrera Popular Villa de Árchez is a 7 km race held in Árchez, a village in Málaga’s Axarquía region. The start and finish lines are located on Paseo del Río Turbilla. This event takes place in October, organized by the Árchez City Council and overseen by officials from the Andalusian Athletics Federation.
The course follows rural roads and local trails within the Árchez municipal boundaries, deviating from a typical city-street circuit. Participants from all over Málaga province are welcome. The event also features school races preceding the main competition, with distances ranging from 500 m to 2 km for different age groups. This marks the eleventh running of the race, offering trophies to the top three male and female finishers in each category, along with a commemorative technical shirt for all registered participants.
