About this race
Carrera por la Diabetes is a running race and walk in Madrid, held as part of activities around World Diabetes Day. It brings together people living with diabetes, relatives, friends, health professionals, institutions, companies, and runners who want the day to be about movement and awareness. The event is organized by Fundación para la Salud Novo Nordisk España and Asociación Diabetes Madrid, using sport as a practical way to discuss diabetes prevention, self-care, and daily management.
The program pairs the race and popular walk with ExpoDiabetes 360, described by the organizers as the largest fair focused on diabetes. The emphasis is not only on finishing a route through Madrid, but on giving visibility and support to families affected by diabetes and sharing useful health information in a public setting. Funds raised by Asociación Diabetes Madrid go to summer camps for children with diabetes, and the foundation also allocates funds from the event. Blue is part of the event’s identity, matching the international color for diabetes awareness.
