About this race
The Carrera Villa de Sotillo is a 10 km race held in Sotillo de la Adrada, a town in Ávila, marking a late-summer event on the province’s running calendar. It is a town-street race, not a large-scale urban event, featuring chip timing, age categories, and a field that can approach 300 registered runners in total.
The race possesses deep local origins; its 50th edition was noted by the town council as the longest-running sports competition they organize. The front of the race is typically fast, with winning times around 30 minutes for men and in the mid-30s for women. Its results have featured notable Spanish distance runners, such as Jacqueline Martín Álvarez, a five-time Spanish champion, 25-time Spain international, and European half-marathon champion.
