About this race
The Chilegua Trail is a Fuerteventura mountain race held in October, moving away from the island’s beach-resort image into its dry valleys and trail country. The main event is the CT-Half: 25.3 km with approximately 1,000 meters of elevation gain, marking it as a genuine mountain run rather than a relaxed coastal walk.
The primary route encircles Areguía mountain via rocky paths and crosses the historic Huertas de Chilegua, with sun and wind contributing to the challenge. Shorter options consist of an 11 km route, a 7 km Mini, and walking categories, alongside children’s races ranging from 500 m to 2 km. This allows serious trail runners, hikers, less experienced runners, and families to participate on various course lengths.
