About this race
Cross Algarrobo is a winter cross-country race held in Algarrobo, Malaga province. It is organized by the local city council and is part of the Provincial Cross Country Circuit, supported by the Provincial Council of Malaga. Now in its thirty-first edition, the race features a 7,500-meter main event on a course certified by the Andalusian Athletics Federation.
Competitors complete the course in five laps, allowing spectators easy viewing and runners repeated sections of the same terrain. The event also hosts school races for younger participants, with distances ranging from 500 meters to 3,000 meters. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each category. Additionally, all participants receive one of Algarrobo’s traditional oil cakes, a local custom that grounds the event in the town itself, beyond its place on the circuit schedule.
