The Cursa de Festa Major de Terrassa is a race held during the city's Festa Major, starting and finishing at Plaça de Ricard Camí. The adult event covers 6 kilometers, allowing participants to run or walk, while the children’s race is 1.5 kilometers. For the first time in 45 years, organizers will not record times, publish rankings, or name a winner. Bibs are still required, with entry costing 10 euros for adults and 8 euros for children.
The route remains the same as in recent editions, but the focus has moved from competition to broader community involvement. All children under 13 will receive medals. This change is a pilot program by CEVOT, the current organizers, following a drop in entries to below 400 from over a thousand runners in previous years. The decision has divided local runners; Jaume Leiva, a 14-time winner of the 44 editions, described it as an error, and David Otero of AE Mitja Marató de Terrassa contended that the city is losing a significant popular athletics event.
