Desafío Empedrada challenges runners with two ascents of Portillo’s well-known cobblestone hill, covering just over 10 km. Described as a local classic in Portillo, the event does not have a fixed date. It is a mixed trail and urban cross race, distinct from long mountain runs or fast road 10Ks.
The course includes approximately 500 meters of elevation gain within its short length, leaving runners with few flat sections. The cobblestone climb is a notable feature in Portillo, drawing spectators who encourage participants on both ascents. The route also features a "Chocosegmento," a lighthearted addition to an otherwise demanding, firm course.
