Esclapa l'Oeil Trail is a free trail-running event in Cipières, with all three routes starting and finishing at the Place de Cipières. Entry is free, but runners collect their bib by bringing a homemade dish, setting the tone for a local, social race day with climbing, joking, and food integrated into the format. The distances are 10 km with 500 meters of climbing, 21 km with 900 meters, and 31 km with 1,300 meters, making even the shortest option a challenging hill race.
The routes utilize the organizers' training grounds and pass the "piste du gaz," with the two CD06 trail challenge races positioned at either end: the 10 km Calernette and the 31 km Parfum Gaz (2 boules). Podiums are awarded to the first three overall runners and the first in each category, with winners receiving a traditional precious stone instead of prize money. Additional prizes are distributed by luck in a draw after the podiums, followed by a shared meal featuring the dishes brought by runners. A free children's race is also included, allowing families to participate together rather than just spectating from the square.
