About this race
Marxa Bonesvalls is an October trail event held in Olesa de Bonesvalls, a village within Barcelona’s Alt Penedès region. Participants can select a 14 km route featuring over 300 m of elevation gain or a 30 km route with approximately 900 m of positive elevation gain. The shorter race is presented as a straightforward option for beginners, whereas the longer race presents a more demanding challenge suited for experienced runners.
The 30 km course begins on gentler terrain before becoming more challenging in the latter half, incorporating narrow trails, rocky sections, and a steep ascent after the 21 km point. A previous edition of the long route recorded close to 1,200 m of climbing, indicating the actual difficulty may exceed the stated figures. Registration covers aid stations, lunch, a participant bag, a performance shirt designed with inspiration from the Olesa trails, and a botifarrada, a traditional Catalan sausage meal that provides a local, fitting conclusion to the event.
