Media Maratón de Palencia

The Media Maratón de Palencia is a 21 km race held in Báscones de Ojeda, a village in Palencia linked to the Río Boedo running event. It takes place on a Sunday near the third weekend of August, coinciding with local Virgen del Boedo festivities. The event appeals to a broad range of participants rather than elites, and the village is notable for hosting both a marathon and a half marathon despite its small population. The course begins and ends in Báscones de Ojeda, tracing the Río Boedo area over a mostly flat path. Participants will encounter asphalt and dirt sections, passing cereal fields, irrigated crops, poplar groves, quiet roads, and extended straightaways.
