Milla Vertical Guerrero de Magacela is a vertical mile race in Magacela, a hilltop town in Extremadura. Participants begin at Plaza del Pilar in the lower town and run 1,609 meters to the fortress entrance above. The entire course is uphill, with 175 meters of elevation gain over a short distance, featuring gradients up to 30%. A separate, shorter race for children takes place within Plaza del Pilar.
The course ascends through Magacela's narrow, steep historic streets to the castle entrance at the hill's summit. The race honors the warrior of Magacela; the top male and female finishers are awarded a small replica of the warrior stele. Category winners also receive trophies. The fastest times are under eight minutes for men and under nine minutes for women, reflecting the climb's demanding nature.
