The longest Open Maxxis - Castellgalí route covers 1,550 metres of climbing over approximately 55 km. While shorter than typical for the series, this hard option remains demanding. This mountain bike event takes place in Castellgalí in mid-June, serving as the final round before the summer break. Participants can select from three primary distances: a short route for novice bikers, a medium route of about 37 km, and the long route for those seeking a more challenging day.
Entries are limited to 500 participants, with all routes commencing simultaneously at 8:30 AM. The short course is designed for riders new to BTT, featuring predominantly dirt roads and some trail sections. The medium course incorporates more of a full mountain-bike experience, while the long course is structured around numerous narrow trail sections and significant climbing. The event village, located at the swimming pool, also provides showers, simplifying logistics. Start grids are organized separately for Pro riders on the long course, UCI license holders on the medium course, Open riders on both long and medium courses, and the short-course category. Additionally, non-competitive BTT options are available for distances around 19 km, 38 km, and 51 km, allowing participation without the pressure of racing for position.
