Peñalara Vertical Trail

Peñalara Vertical Trail is a mountain running series held in Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, within Spain’s Segovia province. It provides two trail distances: 7.5 km and 18 km. Both are steep for their length, featuring 1,100 m of climbing in the 7.5 km option and 1,400 m in the 18 km option. This is not a competitive race series; the emphasis is on finishing a demanding vertical route rather than pursuing rankings. The shorter course is direct and climbing-focused, while the longer route extends the distance without sacrificing the uphill character that defines the event.
