Ruta de los Monumentos

Ruta de los Monumentos is a 5K run held at night in Écija, a town in the province of Seville. Runners begin in Plaza de España and conclude in Plaza de San Juan. This is a popular road race, not a long-distance event, typically scheduled for October. The Hermandad de San Juan organizes the race with support from the Écija City Council’s Youth and Sports department. The number of participants is limited to a few hundred. The course remains within the city, passing through the historic center along streets connected to Écija’s monuments and older neighborhoods. The race serves a charitable cause, and individuals not wishing to run can contribute by signing up for a “dorsal cero,” a donation without a bib. Participants pick up their bibs at the Iglesia de San Juan. Ideain manages the timing, and a cloakroom service is available at the finish line.
