Salomon Ultra Pirineu is a trail running weekend held in Bagà, within the Catalan Pyrenees, close to Barcelona. Its primary event is the 100K, a demanding mountain ultra covering 100 km with 6,600 meters of elevation gain. It begins before sunrise, with participants having until the following morning to complete it. The event also includes VK, 21K, and 42K races, attracting both ultra runners and those preferring shorter mountain courses during the same weekend.
The 100K course begins and ends in Bagà. The route predominantly follows trails within the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. The surface composition highlights the race's nature: 82% trail, 13% track, and only 5% asphalt. It features steep mountains, mountain huts, and an average altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. Over 50 countries are typically represented. Race logistics are meticulously managed: bib collection occurs the day prior, drop bags are submitted early, and the course includes 10 aid stations, alongside support at the finish area and sports hall.
