San Silvestre de Torremolinos is a free New Year’s Eve fun run held in the center of Torremolinos, on Spain’s Costa del Sol. It is a short urban race of three to four kilometers, promoted by the Municipal Sports Board, designed for participation over competition. Recent editions place it in its first decade, marking it as a young local tradition rather than an established classic.
The race uses Plaza Federico García Lorca as its main hub; some editions finish there, while others conclude at Plaza de La Nogalera after a route through the city center. Runners from Torremolinos and the wider province participate, maintaining a festive, non-competitive atmosphere. Entry is free, with participants encouraged to bring one kilogram of non-perishable food for donation to a social aid group.
