Subida Popular a la Teta 2026

Subida Popular a la Teta is a local running race in Medinilla, a village in Avila, organized by the Ayuntamiento de Medinilla. The main popular race is typically around 6.2 kilometers, though some editions have used slightly different distances. The event also includes children's races and activities for kids. It functions as a solidarity event, offering chip timing, medical support, trophies, finisher medals, cash prizes, a gift raffle, and a wheelchair category with its own prizes. The race starts and finishes in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, making the town square the day's focal point. The route combines dirt and asphalt paths. Past editions have been characterized as cross-country running and as a short trail-style run, with one version measuring 7.7 kilometers and featuring 300 meters of climbing. The race has reached at least its twenty-first edition, establishing it as a regular village fixture. While fast runners participate, evidenced by one 6.5-kilometer edition won in just over 24 minutes, the program accommodates children, wheelchair athletes, and local participants.
