The San Silvestre Ciudad de Arrecife is a New Year’s Eve road race held on the main streets of Arrecife, Lanzarote’s capital in the Canary Islands. It is a community run, not exclusively for elites, featuring categories for various ages and skill levels. Recent editions have attracted nearly 1,600 runners.
The race offers locals and visitors a way to conclude the Christmas holiday period with a sporting activity in the city. Arrecife’s town council, via Deportes Arrecife, organizes the event. It emphasizes a family atmosphere, with runners of all abilities participating together in the city center before the year concludes.
