Trail de la Castaña

The Trail de la Castaña begins and concludes in Sorbeda del Sil, a small village in León, Spain. It is the autumn event within the Carrera Alto Sil series. This is a short mountain race, not an ultra. The primary trail route covers approximately 15 to 17 kilometers with nearly 1,000 meters of elevation gain. An additional Andarina walking path offers about 550 meters of ascent. The course is designed for runners seeking challenging, concentrated racing in the Alto Sil region without an extended time commitment. Typically, the Andarina walkers begin before the main trail runners, who start later in the morning. Bear Outdoor is the organizer. The race has been a qualifier for the Copa Diputación de León and has hosted short-distance Castilla y León mountain-running championships, attracting both local participants and more serious regional competitors.
