About this race
Trail La Raya takes place in Alcañices, within Spain’s Zamora province, beginning and ending at the Plaza Mayor. It features a 27 km trail race, a 14 km trail race, and a 9 km walking route, catering to both runners and walkers, not exclusively competitive racers. The event is organized by the Alcañices town council and C.D. La Raya Trail Alcañices, with assistance from Zamora’s provincial bodies.
The courses incorporate asphalt, footpaths, dirt roads, and wooden bridges near the town. They traverse forests, mid-mountain terrain, valleys, and the Angueira River bank. Autumn weather conditions will likely influence the terrain and race pace. The name originates from La Raya, the historical natural border between Spain and Portugal, establishing the race’s local character. Recent editions have seen rapid early registration, with over 200 participants signing up in the first weekend, and available spots are capped.
