The Trail Minero Santa Barbara Hunosa is a mountain race held in Asturias, Spain. It begins at Pozo Carrio in Pola de Laviana. The Speed Trail Santa Barbara variant is a UTMB Index 20K race, covering 16.25 km with 945 meters of elevation gain, starting at 8:00 AM. This event concludes the mountain-running season, serving as a demanding late-season challenge.
The course is short enough for a fast pace but steep enough to penalize runners who approach it like a road 16K. Approximately 414 runners completed the race. About a quarter of the participants were from outside the region. HUNOSA organizes the event with Grupo Valle de Turon Trail Running. The mining heritage is integral to the competition, which includes a minute of silence to honor miners.
