Trail Monte Comado

Trail Monte Comado is a 16-kilometer mountain race in Barreiros, a coastal municipality in Lugo, Galicia. It starts at 10:00 in the morning and packs roughly 1,000 meters of climbing into a short distance, so it is not a gentle local jog. The race counts for the +Kms Barreiros circuit, which links several popular races around the municipality. The route is built around Monte Comado, with most of the appeal coming from the climb rather than from a long point-to-point journey. Recent editions have had more than 75 registered runners, with local athletes and mountain-race regulars making up the field. The Concello de Barreiros works on the event with Deputacion Lugo - Vicepresidencia Deportes, Praias de Comado, A.D. Augas Santas, and ollomao, and local officials present it as both a sports fixture and a way to bring people to Barreiros outside the main tourist season.
