About this race
Trail Peña Rubia is a mountain trail event in Villena, with the start and finish at the Apadis facilities. It takes place in November and offers three options: a 22 km race with 910 m of elevation gain, a 15 km trail sprint with 700 m of elevation gain, and a 10 km hike with 350 m of elevation gain. The long race begins first in the morning, followed by the short race and the hikers. Bib pickup is at Apadis before the starts.
Club Trail Villena organizes the event, which resumed after a three-year hiatus and required new regional permits and a minor course alteration. Apadis provides a practical base for the race, including lighting, showers, and improved access. The venue also supports the event by opening its facilities on a holiday. The participant limit is 400, insurance is included, so runners do not need a federation license. Hikers complete their route without competing. The long race features four aid stations plus a finish-line stop. All participants must carry a reusable cup or container to reduce plastic waste.
