About this race
The Trail Urbana Villaluenga del Rosario begins the mountain-running season in Cádiz, originating from a small village in the Sierra de Cádiz. Villaluenga del Rosario, with under 500 inhabitants, is the least populated municipality in the province and also stands at the highest elevation in Cádiz. The event features a 16 km mountain race suitable for runners and fast walkers, alongside a 16 km non-competitive hiking route open to the public.
Both routes follow the same path, featuring aid stations around the 4 km, 7 km, and 11 km marks, as well as post-finish. Participants are allowed up to four hours to finish. Race bibs include a runner's bag and timing chip. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers. Naturaventura promotes the event, with backing from the local council and the Diputación de Cádiz. Local officials present it as a method for a very small rural town to attract a significant number of people for sport and tourism.
