Triple Circuito Monte Buciero 2026

About this race

The Triple Circuito Monte Buciero is a three-part race in Santoña, on Spain’s Cantabrian coast, featuring kayaking, mountain biking, and a final run toward the Faro del Caballo. Racers may complete the entire event solo or as a relay team, with one person for each discipline. The Asociación Espeleo-Montañera Trasmiera organizes the race, and its format emphasizes the mountain and coastline from the initial paddle to the final descent. The race begins with a kayak leg from San Martín beach, near the Napoleon Fort, proceeding for approximately seven kilometers on open sea around the Buciero cliffs toward Berria beach. At Berria, the transition area, participants embark on a roughly 14-kilometer mixed-terrain mountain bike loop encircling Monte Buciero, followed by the closing foot race. Santoña, historically known as “Puerto” during the Middle Ages and recognized for its anchovy production, provides a distinctive local setting for the event.
