About this race
Maantiekisat is a winter road-running series in Vantaa, Finland, with cup races held in November, December, February, March, and April. Its Vantaan Maantiejuoksucup is Finland's largest and fastest winter running series, featuring straightforward road distances instead of trail or obstacle racing. The main adult races offer 5 km and 10 km for men and women, while younger participants run shorter road races from 1 km up to 10 km.
The series takes place at Vantaa locations including Hakunila, Tikkurila, and Sotunki, with Tikkurila Sports Hall as the competition center for the Tikkurilan Vitonen. This 5 km race follows an officially measured route also used for the Vantaan New Year's Run, starting at 6 PM. The March cup race attracted over 350 participants, with 242 in the 10 km, and also served as the Southern Region Road Running Championships. Kenttäurheilijat-58 organizes portions of the series, with entries and results managed via maantiejuoksu.fi.
