About this race
The 10 km du Mont-Blanc is a short trail race in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, held during the Marathon du Mont-Blanc weekend in late June. It measures approximately 10 km, officially 9.8 km according to UTMB, with an elevation gain of 270 to 325 meters depending on the source. This makes it a mountain run without the extensive commitment of the longer Mont-Blanc races.
The race provides 2,000 bibs and recently saw around 1,700 finishers, indicating a busy field but still smaller than the main marathon events. It holds UTMB Index status and is part of the same event program as the KM Vertical, Young Race Marathon, Mini Cross, 23 km, 42 km, and 90 km races. A specific rule reserves 800 entries, or 40% of the field, for participants who travel to Chamonix by train or bus.
