The 12 Bornes de Gorbio is an 11.7 km foot race held in the village of Gorbio, organized by L’Association Sportive de GORBIO. It is run at a free pace, suitable for both racers and steady runners, and is open to licensed and non-licensed men and women from cadet through veteran categories. Walkers start before the main race, broadening the event beyond just runners.
The route combines 8 km of road with 3.7 km of track and includes 280 m of total elevation gain. Much of the early distance is false flat downhill, but the course also features several climbs, including shorter rises of 150 m, 300 m, and 400 m before a final 700 m climb. Awards are extensive for a local race: trophies and prizes for the top five men and women overall, category trophies and medals, walking-event awards, and a neck warmer for the first 300 registered participants.
