66 Degrés Sud - La Cyclo is a UCI Gran Fondo World Series event in the Perpignan region. Road races begin and end by the beach in Canet-en-Roussillon. The event includes a long granfondo, a shorter mediofondo, and a separate uphill time trial starting in Corneilla-la-Rivière, approximately 20 km west of Perpignan. The 187.8 km granfondo, one of the series' longest races, serves as the qualifier distance for men aged 19-59 and women aged 19-49. The 140 km mediofondo qualifies men aged 60+ and women aged 50+.
The granfondo route starts with 23 flat kilometers before heading inland for climbs including Col de Lauro, Col de Taillet, Col de Fourtou, Col Bélesta, and Pas d’Echelle, totaling 2,304 m of elevation gain. The final 25 km are flat, returning to Canet-en-Roussillon, requiring riders to manage pacing and a quick finish. The mediofondo omits the southern section of the course but still features Col de Castelnou, Col Bélesta, and Pas d’Echelle, with 1,599 m of climbing. The 22.9 km time trial is more technical, starting flat, ascending Col de la Bataille, descending via winding roads towards Montner, climbing Lo Roc Blanc, and concluding with a final 3 km flat section.
