Ahargo Lasterkaz is a trail-running event held in Barcus, a village within the Soule region of the French Basque Country, located in Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It typically takes place near mid-April, offering participants a choice between an 11 km trail and a 21 km trail. Additionally, a 10 km non-timed walk is available for those preferring an outing without competitive timing.
The courses traverse natural and forest landscapes at the base of the Pyrenees, with the Soule countryside serving as the primary backdrop. The inclusion of children’s and junior races ensures it functions as a family-oriented event, alongside catering to regular trail runners. The race incorporates the direct local motto, “Don’t be lazy!”
