About this race
Ardennes Mega Trail is a three-day trail-running series held in Les Hautes-Rivières, French Ardennes, during June. It offers race distances from short mountain outings to all-day ultra runs. The standard program features five courses ranging from 15 km to approximately 90 km. The event family also includes a 165 km XXL race with 7,000 m of climbing. Even the shortest course, Crêtes De Semoy, includes 500 m of ascent over 15 km; the 35 km Le Saut Thibault climbs 1,300 m, and the 55 km Roc La Tour climbs 2,300 m. The main Ardennes-Mégatrail distance is around 85 km with 4,000 m of positive elevation and holds a UTMB Index 100K label.
The routes traverse forest paths and narrow singletrack through the Meuse and Semoy valleys, presenting technical running beyond a simple countryside loop. Aid stations and time barriers are adjusted according to distance: the 15 km has one water-only stop, while the 35 km and 55 km races include solid food stops and stricter cutoffs. The event attracts dedicated trail runners from the region and neighboring countries; the 85 km race has seen hundreds of finishers, with many French and Belgian runners near the front. Participant and finisher gifts are included with several race packages, and the AMT is a significant fixture in eastern France's trail running calendar.
