The Artière Trail begins at the Artière stadium in Beaumont, a town in Puy-de-Dôme located next to Clermont-Ferrand. Organized by the Beaumont Athlétique Club, this event offers trail and nature running with multiple distance options: approximately 34 km and 26 km for longer trail routes, around 13 km and 6 km for shorter races, and an 11 km Nordic walk.
The courses follow paths and tracks through valleys, forests, and open areas in the Auvergne countryside. A notable feature is the puy de Montrognon, a volcanic butte reaching 699 meters, crowned by the château de Montrognon. This combination of wide paths, wooded sections, and volcanic terrain defines it as a local trail race with a distinct Clermont-Ferrand area identity, suitable for participants seeking anything from a brief nature run to a more demanding outing.
