About this race
Bac Trail is a winter trail event held at Pierre Royon stadium in Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde, Gironde, southwest France. BRAUD AC organizes three nature runs: 22 km with 600 m elevation gain, 12 km with 350 m, and 5 km with 150 m. This is the event's second edition, with entry limits keeping it small: 350 runners for the 22 km, 350 for the 12 km, and 100 for the 5 km, for a total of 800 bibs.
All routes begin and end at the stadium, using hilly paths and roads through the forest and vineyards near Saint-Ciers-sur-Gironde and Saint-Palais-sur-Gironde. Roads are either closed to traffic or give runners priority, fitting a local trail style. A 12 km walk is offered alongside the runs, with 300 places available. Cold drinks are provided on the course, with hot refreshments at the finish. Timing uses electronic chips in the bibs. The 5 km and 12 km races filled early, while the 22 km still had few places remaining, a positive sign for a new event.
