Barbython is a non-timed charity run and walk in Barby, France, held during the Téléthon weekend in December. It raises money for AFM Téléthon and medical research into rare genetic diseases; the focus is on participation and fundraising, not speed.
The event includes short-course options, plus 5 km and 10 km routes on public roads. A walk starts before the runs. Walkers, runners, families, and casual participants attend. The morning begins with warm-ups, and a buffet is available at the finish. The town also organizes shared activities for the weekend, such as mulled wine and gatherings in the town hall square. This is the event's seventeenth edition and eighteenth consecutive year.
