About this race
BikingMan Aura begins and ends in Albertville, sending riders into a 1,000-kilometer self-supported bikepacking race across Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in July. The sixth edition gives riders 120 hours to cover the distance, with 19,500 meters of climbing, marking a long mountain-heavy ride rather than a simple endurance cruise.
The route enters Auvergne and the Northern Alps, including the area around Europe’s largest stratovolcano. Riders carry their own supplies, manage their own stops, and navigate remote terrain through wild, protected countryside, making the event as much about planning and resilience as raw fitness.
