Bol d'Air de Saint-Avertin is an early-year cross-country and trail event held in Saint-Avertin, located in the Indre-et-Loire department of France's Centre-Val de Loire region. Organized by SAS Triathlon, it is designed as a family-friendly race rather than a specialist-only competition, featuring routes typically ranging from approximately 6.5 to 13 kilometers. The event also offers walking and Nordic walking options, alongside children's and junior courses, attracting more than just runners focused on timing.
The routes traverse the Cange and Onze Arpents area, with the Domaine de Cange park serving as the race's focal point. Several hundred participants typically attend; one recent edition saw 1,800 trail runners, including amateurs, groups of friends or colleagues, and seasoned competitors. Both licensed and non-licensed runners are eligible, starting from the Cadets age category, and bicycle escorts are prohibited on the course. A night race was introduced, offering a different atmosphere after dark while maintaining the core concept: enjoying an outdoor run at the year's beginning.
