Boucle du piton des neiges - Cilaos 97413 2027

La Boucle du Piton des Neiges begins early at Stade Irenee Accot in Cilaos, Reunion Island. It is an 18 km mountain race with 1,500 meters of elevation gain; the distance is short on paper but steep in practice. The route passes through Bras Sec, ascends toward Kerveguen, reaches the junction near the Gite du Piton des Neiges, then descends toward Le Bloc before continuing on the Roche Merveilleuse trail. The finish is in central Cilaos. The field includes elite runners and local trail runners attracted to a demanding loop beneath the island's highest peak.
