The Boucle Gardannaise is a long-running trail and nature-running event held in Gardanne, within the Bouches-du-Rhône department of Provence. Organized by the running section of the CLES club, it offers three race options: a 7 km route suitable for beginners, a 12 km trail, and a longer course of approximately 23 to 24 km for more experienced runners.
The shorter races include climbs: both the 7 km and 12 km routes feature about 300 meters of positive elevation. The long route presents a greater challenge, with around 750 to 800 meters of climbing. This course starts in Gardanne, the geographical and historical center of Provence’s old mining basin. The local mining history is integrated into the setting, with the Mine of Gardanne noted as a nearby point of interest.
