Caminada des Vignes is a trail and walking event in Monein, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, southwest France, with routes set in local vineyards. It offers participants three trail options of 8 km, 11 km, and 14 km, plus a race for children and juniors. The longer routes are short but not flat: the 11 km route climbs about 400 metres, and the 14 km route climbs about 500 metres. It is typically held in early April. Its name reflects its nature: “caminada” means a walk, and the event centers on vines as much as running.
The courses traverse the vineyards and hillsides around Monein, with Domaine Montesquiou as a central point. Walkers and trail runners follow the same paths. The event also attracts individuals connected to Occitan culture. The food-and-wine aspect is integral, with tasting stops in the cellars of Domaine Montesquiou. Calandreta de Lescar organizes it; one edition saw 1,000 participants after 800 had registered by the previous evening and an additional 200 joined on the morning of the event.
