Cazinight 2026

Cazinight is a headlamp trail race held at night in October in La Souterraine, located in the Creuse department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. Since 2012, the race begins in the early evening, requiring all participants to use a headlamp. Runners can choose from three distances: approximately 5 km, around 10 or 11 km, or a 20 km course. The courses traverse the forest of Bridiers, adjacent woodlands, sunken lanes, paths, and some road segments near La Souterraine. Past editions directed participants from Plage du Cheix towards Domaine de la Fot and the Chateau de la Cazine, reflecting the race's consistent use of the region's dark trails, local history, and rural landmarks. The event is limited to 500 participants, and organizers advise carrying a mobile phone in addition to the mandatory headlamp.
