The Trail des 7 Collines largely remains within Iguerande, a village in France's Brionnais region, with approximately 90% of the race taking place on paths. This September event provides two trail choices: a 13 km discovery route featuring 260 m of elevation gain and a 23 km short trail with 500 m of climbing. It is designed for a wide range of participants, not exclusively seasoned mountain runners, including categories from Juniors to Masters.
The start is located on the church square in Iguerande, with the routes following local paths through the Brionnais countryside. Clubs, associations, and companies may participate in a team challenge, where the top three teams are determined by their total kilometers covered. Past winners from earlier editions are invited back, all bib holders are eligible for an anniversary lottery, and the finish line offers a homemade sweet and savory buffet. For every runner, 1 euro is donated to Espoir Santé Harmonie, an organization that supports cancer patients in the Roannais area and contributes to funding medical equipment for hospitals in Roanne, Charlieu, and St Just la Pendue.
