City Trail Impérial is a night-time urban trail race in Ajaccio, Corsica, held during the city’s Christmas festivities. It is a short race, with all participants running the same approximately 9 km distance. The race begins in the evening from Place Campinchi, adjacent to the Christmas Market. The city center is closed to traffic for the event, attracting about 1,500 runners and 10,000 spectators.
The loop passes through central Ajaccio, going around Place Charles de Gaulle and along Boulevard du Roi Jérôme toward Rue Fesch, before reaching the seafront near the port. Club runners, casual runners, and costumed participants all follow the same course, as fancy dress is a race tradition. The Town of Ajaccio organizes the event with local athletics clubs, and entry profits have supported charities since its inception.
