Courir à Vienne is an annual running event in Vienne, Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, starting from Espace Saint-Germain. It provides a variety of running types, including urban, nature, and trail distances, alongside children’s and junior races, welcoming diverse participants. The 8.6 km city course features approximately 250 metres of elevation gain, while the 13.6 km nature race includes about 386 metres of climbing. Additional distances sometimes offered are 10 km and 20 km trail routes, and a half-marathon distance of around 21 km with roughly 500 metres of elevation gain.
The city course passes by Vienne’s historic monuments, incorporating the town’s Gallo-Roman heritage. The nature routes lead participants along the Rhône riverbanks, nearby hillsides, and into the Balmes Viennoises countryside. Club Léo Lagrange de Vienne organizes the event, supported by the city and other local public bodies, associations, and businesses. The race emphasizes recycling and prioritizes local producers, reflecting its function as a community gathering as well as a set of timed competitions.
